April 24, 2010 - The 12th Annual Wetzel State Recreation Area Cleanup drew about 30 volunteers today to help maintain and de-litterize Wetzel State Recreation Area in Macomb County. In a cooperative effort between Friends of WC Wetzel State Park, the Michigan DNRE and the Radio Control Club of Detroit, the cleanup has occurred every April since 1998. The group and volunteers have removed more that 150 tons of various materials from the 960 acre park in the 12 years of the event.
